52 Ancestors Week 2 “Favorite Photo”

Choosing just one photo was not easy. This is one of my favorite photos or at least in the top ten. I currently have a framed copy sitting on my mantle. Something about this photo just captures my attention every time I walk past.

The handsome young man on the left is my second great grandfather, Frederick Russell Dickey, with his siblings, William Max Dickey and La Verne “Verna” Pearl (Dickey) Keys. Their sixteen-year-old sister, Golden “Goldie” Flossie Dickey died in 1899 due to rheumatism. Their infant brother, Arthur Ross Dickey, died in 1885.

The photo was probably taken around 1903 in Butler, Pennsylvania where they lived with their parents, John B. and Margaret Emaline (Ellenberger) Dickey.
